Team camp

We started off December with our British Sailing Team camp, a great way to catch up with the other sailors, coaches and support staff after the end of the racing season. A lot of inspiring talks and great takeaways after being in the same room with many of our sailing role models. We had our annual price giving team dinner to end off the week and then we were straight out to Vilamoura just in time before the cold really set in in England!

Vilamoura Training Camp

Getting away for winter training is crucial for us as the on water hours are longer and much more productive. Although we got out of the UK just before the cold set in, we arrived in a not so sunny Portugal (albeit 15 degrees warmer!). Classic brits we had come prepared with our offshore kit packed so the torrential rain couldn’t stop us! Nevertheless, we have had some insane sailing as our coach said “Vilamoura has definitely delivered”. Epic sea state and plenty of wind, we couldn’t have asked for much more. Our main focuses for the first week out here have been tuning, technique and setup which we have completed our goals. This week we have a a coaches regatta between the 15th and 18th where our focus will be on our race craft and boat handling.
